Lawrence Cenk Laws is an Associate Attorney with the HMA Law Firm, who is licensed in Virginia.  He is a part of the firm’s Afghan Asylum team.  Prior to HMA, Mr. Laws worked at Tucker, Nong & Associates, PLLC where he worked primarily on asylum cases (both defensive and affirmative) and on SIJS cases.  He has also done extensive legal research on temporary protections especially with respect to those granted to Syrian refugees both here and in Turkey.

During his J.D. program, Mr. Laws gained a certificate in Comparative and International Law.  His LLM thesis focused on international legal protections with respect to linguistic minority rights.

In addition to being fluent in English and Turkish, Mr. Laws is conversational in Spanish.
